Saga Prefecture, Japan, held its first large-scale PR event in Shanghai, China, to increase awareness and attract Chinese tourists to visit Saga, which remains relatively unknown to them. The event invited travel media and travel agencies to introduce Saga and promote tourism. Approximately 100 companies attended, including representatives from the Japanese Consulate and the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO). On the same day, China’s Spring Airlines announced the launch of a direct flight route from Shanghai to Saga. As the Public Relations Director, I was responsible for planning the overall event strategy, creating the media invitation list, drafting the event script, and overseeing on-site operations and guest management on the day of the event.
