My role: Graduate Resident Advisor
• Managed a team of approximately 50 Resident Assistants.
• Collaborated with full-time staff to oversee Residence Hall operations.
• Provided support and solutions for international students facing challenges.

I was selected as a Graduate Resident Advisor (a managerial position) for The New School’s Student Residence Hall from a highly competitive pool with an acceptance rate of less than 10%. I pursued this role because working in a student residence during my study abroad experience allows me to deeply understand the local culture and student community. Additionally, it provides an opportunity to support students struggling to adjust to university life and help build a strong community, which aligns with my personal interests. This position is one of the highest-paying student worker roles at The New School and is closely connected to the university’s core operations.Currently, as the only Graduate Resident Advisor without an English-speaking background, I manage approximately 50 Resident Assistants and collaborate with full-time staff members from the Residential Education Department to oversee the Residence Hall’s operations.
